Recently my psychiatrist added a mood stabilizer to my medication regime. I know I need a mood stabilizer on board but is this the right one? I've been taking it for about a week and I am not tolerating some of the side effects. In fact I find myself taking more over the counter medications to combat the side effects. I am planning on contacting my psychiatrist to swap out this medication for another. I know there are several mood stabilizers out there that I can try, to find the right fit. Although I know that I will always take medication throughout my life because I have bipolar disorder, it's okay to try different medications before you find the correct cocktail.
Take good care,
Christine
